How to Print Planner Printables

DIY Printing Planner Printables | Planner Inserts | Travellers Notebook Inserts | Midori | Fauxdori | Nikita RoseI love planner printables! There are so many designs out there and I have a few of my own tried and true that I have created out of need and designed for my pleasure. I have my favourite grid style inserts and financial planner inserts listed in my shop.

I am currently using my version of a midori or travellers notebook system. I create all my own planner covers and inserts.

Related Posts : You can read about how two of these notebooks helped me save over $8000  and my thousand dollar challenges that I track using one of the inserts I have included in each bundle.

I've spent a great deal of time with trial and error to find what works and what doesn't. I know that I have looked for posts on how to print planner printables, so when I worked out my process to printing them to I wanted to share it with you.

I know that not all planner printables will "work" with this printing process but it should work for many printables found online (free & purchased)

If you have recently purchased a financial planner printable bundle from my shop, firstly thank you! Secondly, here's how you can print them.

Cover Pages

  1. Open the cover page file. Decide if you want to print a double-sided cover or just a single-sided cover.
  2. Put your cardstock paper or 200 gsm paper in your printer.
  3. If printing double-sided cover page select page 1 to print. If printing single-sided cover page choose page 1 for a pre titled cover page or page 2 for an untitled cover page.
    Print page 1
  4. Select "actual size" to print.

  5. Open "page set up" to format the print options.

  11. Use the "Layout" drop down menu to open "Quality & Media" options

  12. Select Photo Paper and Print Quality to High.
    Quality and Media
    * These options increase the use of ink when printing but produce a much better quality of print and true colour likeness. You can skip steps 11 & 12 if you prefer to use less ink and are okay with a lower quality print result.Boarderless Printing Extension Zero
  13. Next make sure that the borderless printing option has the amount of extension at zero.
I had the hardest time trying to figure out why my prints that were design to a very specific size kept printing slightly bigger. Finally discovered this setting was set to the second highest amount of extension. Total frustration.

    Inside Pages

    1. Open the inside planner page file.
    2. Put your choice of plain paper or 100 gsm paper in your printer.
    3. Print all odd pages by selecting more options > odd pages only

    4. Select "actual size" to print.
    5. Open "page set up" to format the print options.
    6. Select your printer name from the drop down box beside Format for:
    7. Choose paper size : A4 (borderless)
    8. Orientation : Landscape
    9. Scale 100 % and Okay. *See Note for optional steps before printing
    10. Print pages and repeat steps for the even pages making sure you select print all even pages and check the reverse pages check box. Insert printed pages in the order they printed out to ensure pages are printed in the correct order.

*Note : The following steps are optional and done before step 10. I only suggest doing this if you must have the highest quality print and have plenty of money for printer ink.Open Printer Options.

    1. Use the "Layout" drop down menu to open "Quality & Media" options
    2. Select Photo Paper and Print Quality to High.

      * These options increase the use of ink when printing but produce a much better quality of print and true colour likeness. You can skip steps 11 & 12 if you prefer to use less ink and are okay with a lower/standard quality print result.
    3. Next make sure that the borderless printing option has the amount of extension at zero.
I had the hardest time trying to figure out why my prints that were design to a very specific size kept printing slightly bigger. Finally discovered this setting was set to the second highest amount of extension. Total frustration.

    Financial Planner Printables Standard Inserts

If you are interested in starting a handmade side hustle a good place to start would be opening an Etsy shop. While I encourage people to get their own site, Etsy is a great place to start and test the waters with your products.

When you are ready to really build your handmade business I recommend getting your own site. Buy your domain as early as possible to secure your brand name.

However if you are serious about creating your handmade business you should read my post about starting your blog + Biz with shopify. I highly encourage you to establish your own website and build up your brand as early as possible.
